Mindfulness Minute for Moms
Today’s minute of mindfulness practice works especially well for tantrum-ing toddlers, cranky kids or any other moments when you don’t like the energy you’re surrounded with and also don’t have the option to remove yourself from the situation.
Repeat after me:
OBSERVE DON’T ABSORB
OBSERVE DON’T ABSORB
OBSERVE DON’T ABSORB
And then continue to repeat in your head as many times as needed and as often as necessary throughout the day.
I love this practice and it helps me often dealing with 4 little ones. It helps me remember that meeting them where they’re at when the frustration level is high, only adds to the frustration.
Disclaimer: In the heat of the moment, you won’t always remember this. And for those moments you catch yourself meeting them with your own tantrum. Give yourself some grace. Remember you’re only human. Spend some time on self-care and know that there’s always another tantrum around the corner to try out this new practice.
