Shine Your Light

"A ship in harbor is safe, but that is not what ships are built for." -Albert Einstein

A ship is safe at harbor but that’s not what it’s meant for: No this is not a call to get on out there and head off into the sunset on a ship. Or to get back out into the world in any fashion during this quarantine. This quote speaks to me in asking, What is it that you were meant for? What is it that lights you up? There are so many things we currently can't do, but how can you shine your light out into the world this week?

This does not have to be something grandiose! Do you feel fired up when you’re being the best mom/dad, friend, grandma/grandpa, or spouse that you can be? How can you tap into that feeling this week? One of the biggest difficulties many of us are facing is limitations on access to the people we love. So maybe you can’t see your grandkids in person, but if that’s what lights you up can you get creative? Make something to send them in the mail? Play a game over FaceTime?

It’s easy during this difficult time to focus on all of the things we can't do or don’t have access to. But just like the ship, how can we untether ourselves from these limitations, and (safely) sail out into the world shining our light bright? Can we shift our focus onto others and share our light with them?

This week’s classes will focus on the idea of stepping into our light so we can shine it with others. We'll also explore finding our 'comfort edge' in poses. I hope to "see" many of you at class this week. If I don't see you, know I am holding space for each of you and sending you lots of positive energy.

Love and light,

Molly
